Yahoo Japan is set to mandate the use of generative AI for its entire workforce of 11,000 employees, aiming to double productivity by 2028. This move is part of a broader strategy to integrate AI into daily tasks.

The company’s directive requires all staff to adopt and utilize generative AI capabilities and tools to enhance efficiency and optimize operations, freeing employees for “higher-level thinking and communication” by handling foundational tasks.

Initially, Yahoo Japan plans to implement a 30% utilization of generative AI across routine areas such as searching, documentation, and drafting. The company has developed internal AI tools, including SeekAI, which streamlines tasks like managing expense claims and data searches.
