Xiaomi is set to unveil its latest flagship smartphones, the Xiaomi 17, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max, in China later this month, breaking with its traditional naming sequence to align with Apple’s numbering convention.

The company briefly revealed the rear design of the 17 Pro Max on its official Weibo account before swiftly removing the image, inadvertently showcasing the rumored rear display. This design is consistent with a leak that emerged just a week prior, sparking speculation that the post may have been an error or a deliberate teaser for the upcoming flagship series.

Qualcomm has confirmed that the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC will power all three models, putting to rest recent speculation surrounding the processor’s naming. The standard Xiaomi 17 and 17 Pro are expected to share the same dimensions, with the Pro variant boasting superior cameras and potentially an enhanced display. In contrast, the 17 Pro Max is anticipated to feature a larger form factor, mirroring Apple’s tiered sizing strategy.
