The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is set to launch in early 2026 and has received approval from a Chinese regulatory body for direct satellite connectivity, a significant feature for the upcoming flagship device.

The regulatory listing reveals that the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will support the Tiantong-1 and Beidou satellite networks, enabling users to make calls and send messages via satellite connectivity. This development underscores Xiaomi’s effort to enhance its flagship offering with advanced communication capabilities.

In addition to satellite connectivity, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is also expected to feature Ultra-Wideband (UWB) support, marking a new addition to the company’s flagship phones. UWB technology is known for its precision in device location and tracking, potentially expanding the device’s utility in various applications.

Earlier leaks suggested that the Xiaomi 17 Ultra would come with a slightly upgraded camera setup, further enhancing its appeal as a premium device. The model number associated with the regulatory approval is 25128PNA1C, which differs from a previously spotted model number in September. This discrepancy has sparked speculation that the device might be a China-only variant with satellite support or that two versions of the phone will be released.

While it is too early to confirm definitive details about the Xiaomi 17 Ultra’s release and specifications, the regulatory approval and earlier leaks provide insight into the device’s potential features and capabilities. As the launch approaches, more information is expected to surface, shedding further light on Xiaomi’s plans for its next flagship model.
