Xiaomi has begun rolling out the stable HyperOS 3 update, based on Android 16, to global Xiaomi 15 Ultra units, with the update reaching a review unit for the European market.
The update, with build number 3.0.5.0.WOAEUXM, is a significant 8.9 GB over-the-air package, necessitating a fast network connection to avoid prolonged download times. The changelog highlights numerous improvements, including performance enhancements across the system and refined visuals.
A redesigned home-screen grid and a cleaner status bar are among the notable changes, alongside unified rounded corners throughout the interface and optimizations for built-in applications, fulfilling Xiaomi’s commitments for HyperOS 3.
The update also introduces new cross-platform features, such as screen mirroring to an iPad, support for opening multiple phone apps in adjustable windows on a Mac, and the ability to unlock the Xiaomi 15 Ultra using Touch ID, Face ID, or a password from an iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
Security is also bolstered with advanced data protection now utilizing post-quantum encryption to safeguard personal data.
The rollout process is expected to span a few days before reaching all eligible devices. Xiaomi 15 Ultra owners who have not yet received the update notification are advised to wait, as it will arrive progressively.
