Microsoft’s “Link” mini-desktop PC, designed for business and connecting directly to the Windows 365 cloud service, is now available for $349.99 in the US and other countries. Announced last November, Windows 365 Link aims to simplify IT management and reduce hands-on support needs.
Windows 365 Link can be seen as a modern take on the “thin client” PCs that many companies used; instead of running a virtual Windows PC offsite, the user can work from home or anywhere with internet access. Microsoft also claims that this device boots in seconds.
Over 100 organizations tested Windows 365 Link in a preview program, which Microsoft claims helped to refine the software before its release.
Marketed towards businesses, purchasing the Windows 365 Link for home use might not be as simple as buying a regular consumer PC. Interested parties will need to contact a Microsoft account team or an authorized reseller and may be required to buy more than one unit.
Windows 365 Link is currently available in the US, Canada, Australia, UK, Germany, Japan, and New Zealand.
