vivo showcased its X300 Ultra smartphone at MWC 2026 in Barcelona, highlighting a significant teleconverter accessory that provides a 400 mm equivalent focal length, allowing for approximately 17.3X optical zoom.

The teleconverter is a massive external attachment to the device, enabling the smartphone to achieve focal lengths that were previously only possible with dedicated cameras. This accessory builds on vivo’s previous experiments with optics, representing the company’s most powerful zoom system to date. Sensor cropping can further extend the zoom range to roughly 800 mm equivalent.

Alongside the lens, vivo also displayed a new video camera rig. This accessory includes a snap-on cooling fan, a side handle grip, and a cold shoe mount for lights or microphones, effectively transforming the phone into a handheld camera system for video recording.

The X300 Ultra is expected to feature a triple-camera system, with a 200 MP Sony LYT-901 main sensor measuring 1/1.12-inch. The telephoto camera is anticipated to utilize a 200 MP Samsung HPB sensor at an 85 mm equivalent focal length, while an ultra-wide camera is expected to use a 50 MP Sony LYT-828 sensor. Additional camera hardware is expected to include ZEISS optics, laser autofocus, and a 5 MP color spectrum sensor, with a 50 MP front camera.

The device is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, paired with a 6.82-inch LTPO OLED display and a 7,000 mAh battery. Charging speeds are anticipated to reach 100W wired and 40W wireless.

The X300 Ultra is slated to launch in China later in March 2026, with a global release expected around April or May.
