Vivo is expected to launch its next S-series smartphones around May, and leaks suggest the lineup will be called the S30, skipping the S21 moniker altogether. Four color options are expected, with shades similar to those seen in previous models: blue, gold, pink, and black.
The leap to the S30 name comes from tipster Panda is Bald, who revealed this naming tidbit for the Chinese market. Vivo typically releases two generations of S-series phones in China annually, launching the S19 in May 2024 and the S20 series in November 2024.
Currently, Vivo is laser-focused on the upcoming Vivo X200 Ultra launch event, anticipated in the second half of this month. The X200S, Vivo Pad 5 Pro, Vivo Pad SE, and Watch 5 are also slated for announcement alongside the X200 Ultra. Teasers for the S30 series may surface after these product reveals.
Last month, Digital Chat Station hinted at some specs. The Vivo S30 may sport a 6.67-inch OLED panel with a 1.5K resolution and the unreleased Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset. Rumors also point to a compact model featuring a 6.31-inch OLED panel and the Dimensity 9300 Plus chipset. This smaller variant might be called the Vivo S30 Pro Mini, offering a more budget-friendly alternative to the Vivo X200 Pro Mini.
