Dealing with constant spam calls on your iPhone can be incredibly frustrating, but there are several effective steps to stop annoying spam calls and reclaim your peace of mind.

Before diving into the solutions, ensure your iPhone is updated to the latest iOS version and have access to your Phone settings. This is a crucial step as it ensures that you have the latest features and security patches available.

To effectively silence unknown callers, block specific numbers, and report spam, follow these step-by-step instructions. Open the Settings app on your iPhone. Scroll down and tap Phone. Select Silence Unknown Callers and toggle the switch to the on position.

To block a specific spam number, open the Phone app and tap the Recents tab to view your call history. Locate the spam number you wish to block and tap the info (i) icon next to it. Scroll down and tap Block This Caller, then confirm by tapping Block Contact.

To report the number, visit the FCC National Do Not Call Registry website and follow the instructions to file a complaint. You can access the website at https://www.donotcall.gov/. Consider downloading a third-party spam filter app like Hiya or Truecaller for additional protection against spam calls.

A useful tip to keep in mind is that if you are expecting an important call from an unknown number, you can temporarily disable “Silence Unknown Callers” or save the number to your contacts immediately after the call to ensure future calls ring through.

After implementing these settings, monitor your call log for a few days to see the immediate reduction in spam interruptions. If specific numbers persist despite blocking, consider reporting them through your carrier’s spam reporting feature or the apps mentioned above.

Additionally, remember that while the Do Not Call Registry helps reduce legitimate telemarketing calls, it cannot stop illegal international scammers. Staying vigilant and using the iPhone’s built-in features combined with third-party tools offers the best defense against persistent spam calls.
