Sony has announced the latest additions to the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog for August 2025, bringing 11 new titles to Extra and Premium tier subscribers, effective August 19, 2025.
The new lineup includes the return of Insomniac Games’ original superhero video game, Marvel’s Spider-Man, previously removed in April 2023, now available on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Another significant addition is NetherRealm Studios’ fighting game, Mortal Kombat 1, available on PS5 for Extra and Premium tiers. Notably, Sword of the Sea from Giant Squid will be included on day one for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers on PS5.
The August 2025 lineup also features a diverse range of other games, including Harold Halibut (PS5), Indika (PS5), Earth Defense Force 6 (PS5, PS4), Unicorn Overlord (PS5, PS4), Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key (PS5, PS4), and Coral Island (PS5). For Premium subscribers, two PlayStation 1 classics from Capcom, Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, will be added, playable on PS4 and PS5. Additionally, Premium subscribers will gain access to a five-hour trial for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach.

PlayStation Plus Premium Game Catalog additions for August 2025 specifically include Resident Evil 2 (PS5, PS4) and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis (PS5, PS4), both being PlayStation 1 classics.
These new additions follow the games introduced in July 2025 and the Essential tier games added earlier in August, further enriching the PlayStation Plus game library for subscribers to explore starting August 19, 2025.
