Samsung has introduced three new foldable phones, the Z Fold7, Z Flip7, and the more affordable Z Flip7 FE, expanding its foldable lineup. The new devices offer several significant upgrades and improvements over their predecessors.

The Z Fold7 starts at $1,999, a $100 increase from its predecessor. Despite the price hike, the device is significantly thinner and lighter, weighing 218 grams compared to the Fold6’s 239 grams, and measuring 8.9 mm when folded. It features an 8-inch main display and a larger 6.5-inch cover screen. The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. Durability improvements on the Z Fold7 include a restructured hinge and Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, enhancing its overall build quality. The camera system has also been upgraded, now featuring a 200-megapixel main sensor. Additionally, AI-powered photo editing capabilities, such as Photo Assist and generative AI fill, are integrated into the device.

The Z Flip7 maintains its starting price of $1,100 and is also thinner than its predecessor. It boasts a larger 4.1-inch cover screen and a 6.9-inch main display. The phone is powered by a Samsung-made 3nm Exynos2500 chip and features a 4,300 mAh battery. The Z Flip7 FE, starting at $899, is designed to attract budget-conscious consumers. It comes with a 4,000 mAh battery, a 3.4-inch cover screen, and a 6.7-inch main screen, running on the Exynos2400 processor. Both new Flip models gain DeX support, allowing for workstation-like functionality.

Google’s Gemini Live and an upgraded AI-powered Gemini assistant are integrated into the devices. All new Z Flip and Z Fold phones support Gemini Live’s camera and video AI features. Pre-orders for the Galaxy Z Flip7 and Z Fold7 begin immediately, with general availability on July 25.
