Samsung has unveiled its latest innovation in display technology with the introduction of Micro RGB, promising “exceptional color accuracy with sub-100-micrometer LEDs” in its inaugural 115-inch display product.
The company’s proprietary Micro RGB technology features an ultra-fine arrangement of individually controlled red, green, and blue micro RGB LEDs positioned behind the panel. This setup enables precise color management through real-time analysis and optimization of color output for each frame by an integrated AI engine. Furthermore, the “Micro RGB Color Booster Pro” technology enhances dull color tones across various content, resulting in a more vivid viewing experience for users.
The new display boasts several advanced features, including “Micro RGB Precision Color,” which achieves 100% coverage of the BT.2020 color space, ensuring exceptional color accuracy. Additionally, “Glare Free” technology minimizes reflections, making it suitable for viewing in bright environments. The display is also integrated with a generative AI-powered “smarter Bixby” and secured by Knox, providing both enhanced functionality and robust security.
Samsung has committed to providing seven years of updates for its Tizen OS, ensuring the display remains current and supported over its lifespan. The Micro RGB display is set to launch first in Korea, followed by a release in the US, with plans for a global rollout that will include various sizes to cater to diverse customer demands.
