Samsung has unveiled its latest flagship Android tablets, the Galaxy Tab S11 and Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, emphasizing enhanced performance and design. The new models bring significant upgrades over their predecessors.

The base model, Galaxy Tab S11, effectively replaces the previous Plus model, offering similar capabilities in a more streamlined form factor. In contrast, the Ultra model boasts a larger 14.6-inch display that is both thinner and lighter than its predecessor, while maintaining a high-resolution 120 Hz refresh rate.

Both tablets are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+, a slightly overclocked version of the standard 9400 chipset. This upgrade is reported to deliver a 24% increase in CPU performance and a 27% boost in GPU capabilities, thanks to its 3nm process technology. The Galaxy Tab S11 is equipped with an 8,400 mAh battery, while the Ultra features a larger 11,600 mAh battery. Both support up to 45W fast charging.

The camera specifications of the two models differ slightly. The Galaxy Tab S11 features a single 13MP rear sensor and a 12MP ultra-wide front camera. The Ultra model retains the 13MP rear sensor but uses a single 12MP ultra-wide front camera, a departure from the dual-camera setup found in earlier Ultra versions. However, the rear camera configuration remains consistent across both models, with a 13MP primary sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide sensor.

Software enhancements are also a key feature of the new tablets. The upgraded DeX mode supports four independent workspaces and multi-screen setups. Samsung has also integrated a new floating AI overlay and enhanced its One UI 8 software, based on Android 15, with Galaxy AI features designed to assist with tasks such as writing, drawing, and audio summarization. Additionally, the S Pen has been redesigned with a hexagonal button and an optional magnetic charging case.

Both the Galaxy Tab S11 and S11 Ultra have an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance and support microSD card expansion up to 2TB. The pricing for the new tablets starts at $799 for the 128GB Galaxy Tab S11 and $1,199 for the Ultra model, with prices increasing for higher storage capacities. The tablets are currently available in regions where the previous S10 FE models are still in stock, pending the release of next year’s updated versions.
