Samsung Rolls Out One UI 7 to Galaxy Devices

Samsung has begun rolling out the One UI 7 software update to Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 phones, a development eagerly awaited by owners of these devices.

The company had announced that the One UI 7 update would start rolling out to Fold and Flip devices sometime in April, and it appears this rollout has now commenced in North America. US owners of Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 devices have begun reporting that updates are available with the new UI.

The rollout seems to be prioritizing devices that already have the beta version of One UI 7. If you’ve already had the beta on your device, it appears like you will be first in line as Samsung is rolling out to those devices before others.

The update is a substantial 5GB download, which is a heavier installation and update process compared to some other updates. However, it includes extras like a security update for April 2025, making it worth the extra bulk and wait time.

Currently, the update appears to be available only to those using the Verizon network. For anyone using T-Mobile or AT&T, it looks like there’s still more of a delay before the update begins rolling out to everyone.

One UI 7 brings several new features to Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 devices. Samsung worked hard to offer new features without losing the feel of the previous UI version, resulting in a system that’s easy to navigate and use, with some fun new extras.

The new design feels far more modern overall. One useful feature that Samsung has included is a vertically scrolling app drawer with far better fluidity. The new split notification pane works really well and provides more information in a comfortable space.

The camera UI has been redesigned to be more minimal, which is great for those quick access snaps, while still offering more depth if you want to explore further. As expected, the AI features are also being pushed with deeper integrations that make them actually useful.

Interestingly, the Galaxy S25 received the full version of One UI 7 before the Galaxy Fold 6 received even the beta, indicating some variation in the rollout schedule across different Samsung device models.
