Samsung has launched a new Android app named Hearapy designed to temporarily alleviate motion sickness when used with Galaxy Buds4 Pro.
The app’s concept is based on research from the University of Nagoya in Japan. Researchers identified that listening to a 100Hz sine wave at 75-85dB for several minutes can improve balance and reduce symptoms of motion sickness.
Hearapy can be downloaded from the Play Store. While Samsung recommends its use with Galaxy Buds4 Pro, the app may also function with other earbuds or headphones, though effectiveness can vary depending on the device.
The app specifically plays the 100Hz sine wave to stimulate the balance system in the inner ear. Listening for just one minute can provide relief from motion sickness for up to two hours, provided that the volume is set to a loud but comfortable level. Users may repeat the listening session as needed for extended relief.
