If you accidentally removed the flashlight shortcut from your lock screen, you can quickly restore it on your Android, iPhone, or iPad.

Before you start, ensure your device is updated to the latest OS version, and that you have access to the Settings app.

Follow the steps below to restore access to the flashlight directly from your device’s lock screen.

First, open the Settings app on your device.

Check your operating system: if you are using Android, tap Lock screen or Display, then look for Lock screen shortcuts or Quick settings tiles. If you are using an iPhone or iPad, tap Control Center (usually found below General).

For Android devices, tap Lock screen tile or Shortcuts to access the customization menu. Select an empty slot or the current shortcut to change it. Choose Flashlight (or Torch) from the list of available options. Tap Done or Save to apply the changes. If your specific Android model does not support lock screen shortcuts, swipe down from the top of the screen to access the Quick Settings panel and tap the Flashlight icon there instead.

For iPhone or iPad, scroll down in the Control Center settings menu. Tap the green + (plus) icon next to Flashlight to add it to your active controls. Exit Settings and return to your lock screen or home screen. Swipe down from the top-right corner (or up from the bottom on older models) to open the Control Center. Tap the Flashlight icon to turn it on, and tap it again to turn it off.

If you are using a Samsung Galaxy device, you can also customize the layout of the lock screen shortcuts by going to Settings > Lock screen > Shortcuts and assigning the flashlight to the left or right side trigger.

Now that the flashlight shortcut is restored, you can access it instantly without unlocking your phone. This is particularly useful in low-light situations where speed is essential.

Consider customizing your other lock screen or control center shortcuts to prioritize the tools you use most often. Keeping your most frequently used features easily accessible will streamline your daily device interaction.
