Reddit is expanding the availability of its publishing tools to all approved media partners, enhancing content sharing and engagement analysis capabilities. The tools, initially launched in September for a small group of partners, are now accessible via open applications for any publisher looking to grow their reach on the platform.
The expanded suite includes features such as URL engagement insights, RSS feed syncing, and AI-powered recommendations to help identify the most suitable subreddits for content. Reddit will verify domain ownership for applicants and notify those approved within three days. The tools are offered for free as part of a public beta test.
Hundreds of publications in news, lifestyle, and trade sectors have tested the new features, reporting significant increases in engagement metrics. Median post views surged by 46%, and profile views nearly doubled compared to baseline figures. Additionally, median comments on publisher stories rose by 48% following the adoption of these tools.
Reddit is also introducing two new features: Community snapshots provide insights into community rules, statistics, and popular discussion links. Community notes allow publishers to manage notes for each community in the Links tab, facilitating better alignment with users.
Furthermore, Reddit is expanding access to profile flairs for all Reddit Pro users, which enables publishers to highlight posts with relevant content tags, making it easier for readers to locate specific content. According to Reddit, “For publishers, this means they can organize the stories they’ve shared on Reddit so readers can come to their profile to browse coverage, find key reporting, and ask follow-up questions.”
