Rabbit Inc. has announced the rollout of RabbitOS 2, a significant update for its Rabbit R1 AI device, aiming to enhance user experience and device functionality. The update was unveiled in an 8-minute video.
RabbitOS 2 introduces a redesigned user interface featuring improved gesture controls on the touchscreen. A new Quick Settings screen provides quick access to volume and brightness controls, along with cards for camera and text input functionalities.
The update also focuses on improving conversation flow, with detailed responses now displayed on the screen. The conversation page includes options to mute the microphone or expand the keyboard for follow-up interactions. A dedicated camera shortcut has also been added.
Addressing user clarity regarding the device’s capabilities, RabbitOS 2 introduces a “Card Stack” function, acting as an app drawer. Users can scroll through cards to access options such as Magic Gallery, recordings, and Rabbit Intern. Voice commands remain an option for initiating these tasks.
Enhancements have been made to existing features, including the translations function, which now provides full conversation transcripts synchronized with the Rabbit Hole, a user activity hub.
A key addition in RabbitOS 2 is the R1 Creations tool, designed to foster community development of AI-coded apps and games. This feature allows users to create their own applications using the Rabbit R1’s AI model and host them on the platform. The Rabbit Intern agent facilitates the creation of tools and programs from prompts.
Rabbit Inc. aims to make the Rabbit R1 more appealing to both current and prospective users through these software enhancements. The update is available for Rabbit R1 users starting today.
