PlayStation is set to host a livestream showcase on Wednesday, June 4th, at 5 PM ET, adding to a busy week for the video game industry with numerous developer and publisher presentations.
The PlayStation State of Play event, streaming on Twitch and YouTube, is scheduled for approximately 40 minutes. Sony’s announcement indicates the broadcast will provide updates on upcoming PlayStation 5 titles and potentially feature some surprises.
This surge of activity in early June mirrors the excitement of the now-defunct E3 trade show, with major industry players opting for individual showcases. Summer Game Fest, hosted by Geoff Keighley, begins on Friday, June 6th, while Xbox will hold its showcase on Sunday, June 8th. Epic Games is also currently hosting its State of Unreal event.
Among the titles likely to appear during the PlayStation showcase is Hideo Kojima’s highly anticipated sequel, Death Stranding 2: On The Beach. Sucker Punch’s Ghosts of Yotei is also expected to receive an update, offering a glimpse ahead of its planned release date of October 2nd.
