The first method involves using Apple Pay or Google Pay. To start, open the Cash App by tapping the white “$” on a green background. Tap the card icon located in the bottom row of symbols to the left of the dollar sign. Then, tap “Add Card to Apple Pay” or “Add Card to Google Pay” depending on your device. Tap “Add” and follow the prompts to enter your personal information if required. Tap “Continue” to accept the terms and finish the setup. To pay in-store, open your device’s wallet (Apple Wallet or Google Wallet) and select the Cash App card. Hold your phone near the payment terminal to complete the transaction via NFC.

The second method involves paying the merchant directly. Open the Cash App by tapping the white “$” on a green background. Enter the dollar amount you need to pay on the main screen. Tap the “Pay” button located in the lower right corner. Enter the merchant’s details, such as their Cash tag, phone number, or email address. In the “For” section, type a note describing your purchase for record-keeping. Tap the green “Pay” button in the top right corner to send the money. Confirm the transaction using your PIN, passcode, or fingerprint if prompted.

The third method involves using Cash App Pay via QR Code. Open the Cash App by tapping the white “$” on a green background. Tap the QR scanner icon in the top left corner (looks like a square made of broken lines). Point your phone camera at the Cash App QR code displayed near the register. Ensure the code fits inside the outlined square on your screen. Tap the lightning bolt icon to turn on the flash if the register area is dimly lit. Enter the dollar amount required for the purchase. Tap “Pay” to process the transaction immediately.

A pro tip for frequent users of Method 1 is to set your Cash App card as the default payment method in your Apple or Google Wallet for faster access at checkout counters.

Using digital wallets like Apple Pay or Google Pay with your Cash App card adds a layer of convenience and security to your shopping experience. You no longer need to worry about forgetting your physical wallet at home, as your smartphone serves as your payment method. This flexibility ensures you can always access your funds when you need them most.

Additionally, methods like direct merchant payments and Cash App Pay offer versatile solutions for various shopping scenarios. Whether you are paying a local vendor or scanning a QR code at a large retailer, these options minimize friction at the point of sale. By utilizing these features, you streamline your spending and keep better track of your transactions digitally.
