Nvidia has launched GeForce Game Ready driver 581.29 in anticipation of the Borderlands 4 launch, while also updating its app with a new RTX Remix update to enhance older games with modern effects.
The RTX Remix update brings significant improvements to fire and smoke effects, now supporting over 165 games, allowing modders to refine these visual elements in classic titles. This enhancement empowers modders to further enhance the visual fidelity of older games, breathing new life into them with modern particle effects.
Driver 581.29 is optimized for Borderlands 4, providing DLSS 4 optimizations, as well as support for Multi-Frame Generation and Nvidia Reflex. The driver also includes optimizations for Dying Light: The Beast, ahead of its release next week, enabling DLSS 4 Multi-Frame Generation, DLSS Super Resolution, and DLSS Frame Generation. These optimizations are expected to significantly enhance the gaming experience for users with compatible hardware.
The RTX Remix tool has already demonstrated its capabilities, enabling modders to significantly improve older games. Nvidia previously showcased the capabilities of RTX Remix alongside its RTX 50-series GPUs using Half-Life 2 as a demonstration earlier in the year, highlighting the potential of the technology to revitalize classic games.
