Nintendo Switch Online is about to get a serious injection of nostalgia. Coinciding with the launch of the Switch 2 on June 5th, a selection of GameCube titles will be joining the subscription service.

Confirmed titles include The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Soul Calibur 2, and F-Zero GX, all promised to have improved visuals. Nintendo is touting “clearer image quality” and higher resolution compared to the original GameCube releases.

The lineup doesn’t stop there. Nintendo also plans to release other titles to the service:

  • Confirmed titles: Super Mario Sunshine, Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, Super Mario Strikers, Chibi-Robo! Plug Into Adventure, Luigi’s Mansion and Pokémon Colosseum.

These GameCube games will be available as part of the Nintendo Switch Online: Expansion Pack.

Since 2018, Nintendo has expanded its online subscription service, adding games from older console generations and other features. The base service includes access to NES, SNES, and Game Boy libraries, plus the Nintendo Music app. The Expansion Pack adds Game Boy Advance, Nintendo 64, and Sega Genesis games, along with DLC for games such as Mario Kart 8, Animal Crossing, and Splatoon 3.

Notably, this isn’t the first time GameCube games have appeared on the Switch. A few titles have been remastered or ported over the years, like Metroid Prime.
