Motorola has announced the integration of Microsoft’s Copilot Vision into its Moto AI suite, expanding an existing partnership between the two companies, making Microsoft’s AI-powered computer vision technology accessible on select devices.

The integration of Copilot Vision will be available on specific Motorola Razr and Motorola Edge series devices where Moto AI is already supported. To utilize Copilot Vision, users will need a Copilot account and an active Wi-Fi or cellular connection, as it is not an on-device feature. Microsoft’s terms and conditions, along with its data collection policy, will govern the use of Copilot Vision. Furthermore, upcoming Motorola devices will come preinstalled with the Copilot app.

A key distinction of Copilot Vision on Motorola devices is its ability to access the device’s camera to analyze the user’s surroundings and respond to queries, a functionality not present in the desktop version. It also includes a real-time two-way voice mode for hands-free interaction. However, it remains unconfirmed whether the visual assistant can interpret and assist with on-screen content.

Addressing privacy concerns, Motorola stated that Copilot Vision is an opt-in feature, requiring user activation for camera and microphone access. Users can also test the Vision feature before logging into Copilot. This integration positions Copilot Vision as a direct competitor to Google’s Gemini Live, which offers similar visual assistance capabilities, including screen sharing for real-time support. Gemini also holds an advantage as the default voice assistant across all Android devices.
