Microsoft Brings Xbox Cloud Gaming to LG Vehicles

Microsoft and LG are teaming up to bring Xbox Cloud Gaming to internet-connected vehicles, revolutionizing in-car entertainment for gamers on the go.

The collaboration will introduce a new Xbox app on cars using LG’s Automotive Content Platform (ACP), allowing Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers to stream Xbox games on in-car screens. The Xbox app will enable game streaming while electric vehicles are charging or during travel, providing entertainment for passengers.

LG’s ACP is currently available on Kia’s EV3 in Europe and is set to be included in the EV4, EV5, and the new Sportage models. The platform operates on LG’s webOS, which also powers its smart TVs and offers access to popular streaming services like Netflix, Disney Plus, and YouTube. This development builds on Microsoft’s previous partnership with LG to bring the Xbox app to smart TVs earlier this year.

As Microsoft expands Xbox Cloud Gaming to new devices, it’s also preparing to extend the service to Game Pass Core and Standard subscribers. Christopher Lee, vice president of Xbox marketing, highlighted the significance of this collaboration, stating, “Our work with LG is the latest example of Xbox expanding to new places, building on partnerships that already bring Xbox Cloud Gaming to mobile devices, PCs, and TVs. By adding vehicles to the mix, we’re giving players more choice than ever in how they enjoy their games.”

In related news, Microsoft is set to return to the Tokyo Game Show later this month. An Xbox stream is scheduled for September 25th at 3 AM PT / 6 AM ET / 11 AM UK, where the unveiling of Forza Horizon 6 is highly anticipated. The Xbox teaser for the Tokyo Game Show features an urban neon aesthetic street scene, hinting at a new Forza game set in Japan.
