If you have an Android device but prefer the aesthetic of an iPhone, you can easily replicate the iOS experience without purchasing a new phone. The inherent customizability of the Android operating system allows you to completely make your Android device look like an iPhone using a combination of apps and settings.

Follow these steps to transform your phone’s home screen, icons, lock screen, and even core applications to closely mimic the look and feel of Apple’s iOS. First, install an iOS-style launcher from the Google Play Store to customize your home screen’s look and feel. Popular choices include Launcher OS or Launcher OS 18 for a basic iOS interface, HiPhone Launcher for another simple alternative, Nova Launcher for deep customization of icons, gestures, and shortcuts, and Go Launcher EX for easy installation of various iOS-style themes.

After installing a launcher, search the Google Play Store for an iOS icon pack or theme, such as one designed to imitate iOS 17 or iOS 18. Follow the instructions within your launcher app to apply the new icons. To create a more authentic experience, download apps that imitate the look and function of Apple’s software. For iMessage, try apps like Beeper, BlueBubbles, or SunBird. Note that many of these require a Mac computer for setup and may not have all the features of the native iMessage app. You can install the official Apple Music app directly from the Play Store. Look for utility apps like iCalendar and iCalculator that mimic the iOS versions.

Replace your default lock screen by installing an app like Lock Screen iOS 17 or iLock, which also changes your notifications to match the iOS style. Be sure to grant any necessary permissions, such as camera access, when prompted. Finally, update your swipe-down menu to resemble the iOS Control Center. Your approach will depend on your Android version: if your device runs Android 12 or newer, download an app like Control Center iOS or iCenter iOS 15 to apply an iOS-style skin to your existing Quick Settings menu. If you are on an older Android version, install a third-party swipe-down Quick Settings app from the Play Store to add this functionality to your device.

Pro tip: After installing a new launcher, your phone might ask you to select a default home app. Be sure to select your new launcher and tap ‘Always’ to make it the permanent home screen. Transforming your Android’s interface allows you to enjoy the clean and minimalist aesthetic of iOS without being locked into Apple’s hardware ecosystem. This gives you the freedom to choose from a wide range of Android devices that fit your budget and feature preferences, all while maintaining the user experience you prefer.

Furthermore, this process highlights the fundamental strength of the Android platform: its openness and flexibility. Unlike more closed systems, Android empowers you to take control and tailor nearly every aspect of your device. Engaging in this level of customization is a great way to explore the capabilities of your phone and create a truly personal experience.
