Easily play a video on repeat on your iPhone using one of four methods: the Photos app, Pages, iMovie, or YouTube. This allows you to loop a video seamlessly with built-in apps or the YouTube app.
To loop a video on an iPhone, you can follow one of four methods. The first method involves using the Photos app. To do this, open the Photos app and tap the video you want to loop to open it full-screen. Tap the More button, represented by three horizontal dots in the top right corner. Select Duplicate; a copy is added to the end of your library. Duplicate the video again so you now have two copies at the end. Tap the first copy, which is the second-to-last video. Tap the More button again and select Slideshow. Tap Options in the bottom right and turn on Repeat; the slideshow now plays the two copies on loop.
Method 2 involves using Pages. Open Pages, tap the plus sign, and choose Start Writing for a blank document. Tap the plus sign in the document editor and choose Photo or Video from the menu. Tap the video you want to loop; it appears with a blue outline. Tap the paintbrush button to open the media menu, then tap Movie, which is the tab at the top of the media menu. Select Loop in the Repeat section. Close the media menu and tap play; the video loops in the document.
The third method uses iMovie. Open iMovie, tap Movie, choose the video, and tap Create Movie. Tap the plus sign to add a new clip, then tap Video → All, and select the same video. Repeat the previous step as many times as needed for loops. Tap the transition between clips and select None for a smooth loop. Tap Done, then the share button, and select Save Video; it appears in your Photo Library.
Method 4 involves looping a video in YouTube. Open the video you want to loop in the YouTube app. Tap the settings button, represented by a gear icon in the top right. Tap Loop Video; a notification confirms it is on, and the video repeats.
For the smoothest loops, consider trimming your video so the end blends perfectly into the start before duplicating. Once your video is looping perfectly, you can export or share it for use in stories or presentations. In iMovie or Photos, you can save the looped version directly to your library for easy access later. You can also experiment with adding music or effects in iMovie to enhance the repeat playback. If you need more advanced editing, you can upload the looped video to iCloud or another service for cross-device use, keeping your workflow efficient across iPhone, iPad, or Mac without starting over.
