iPhone 17 Series Geekbench Scores Show Big Performance Boosts

Early Geekbench scores for the newly launched iPhone 17 series and iPhone Air reveal performance gains from the Apple A19 and A19 Pro chips.

The iPhone 17 (model 18,3), powered by the Apple A19 chip, achieved a single-core CPU score of 3,608 and a multi-core score of 8,810. These results indicate a 10% increase in single-core performance and an 11% increase in multi-core performance compared to the iPhone 16’s A18 chip. The listing also confirms the iPhone 17 features 8GB of LPDDR5x RAM. Its GPU attained a Metal score of 37,014, representing a 33% improvement over the iPhone 16.

The iPhone Air (model 18,4) utilizes a binned version of the A19 Pro chip, featuring a six-core CPU and a five-core GPU. It scored 3,674 in single-core and 8,824 in multi-core tests, and comes equipped with 12GB of LPDDR5x RAM. In the GPU test, the Air achieved a Metal score of 37,743.

The iPhone 17 Pro (model 18,1) registered a single-core score of 3,523 and a multi-core score of 9,028. Similar to the Air, the 17 Pro includes 12GB of LPDDR5x RAM. Its GPU reached a Metal score of 44,342, a 17% increase compared to the iPhone Air’s score. The 17 Pro’s GPU score is also 32% higher than that of the iPhone 16 Pro.

Finally, the iPhone 17 Pro Max (model 18,2) demonstrated a single-core score of 3,781 and a multi-core score of 9,679. The Metal GPU score reached 45,657, marking an almost 40% increase compared to the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
