Intel Unison, the app that bridged the gap between Android, iOS, and Windows for file sharing and messaging, is shutting down, leaving a void for users seeking cross-platform connectivity.
While Windows 11 Phone Link offers similar functionality for Android users, Intel Unison uniquely served both Android and iOS users, a capability that will cease in June 2025, according to a Neowin report, as the wind-down begins.
Users are now seeing notifications within the Microsoft Store, Google Play Store, and App Store, alerting them to the impending service termination.
Intel Unison will be discontinued in June 2025, however Lenovo Aura platforms retain service through 2025.
Windows Latest reports that a pop-up message is appearing within the app itself to notify users.
Although Windows Phone Link remains an option for Android users on Windows 11, some features found in Intel Unison are missing. Intel has not announced a replacement program or explained the reason for the shutdown.
