HP has unveiled HP Dimension with Google Beam, a collaborative technology that brings Google’s “Beam” initiative to the forefront of video communication, at InfoComm 2025, aiming to create lifelike, 3D video calls without headsets or wearables.

Google Beam, initially announced at Google I/O a month prior, is an AI-powered solution designed to make video calls feel more three-dimensional. The HP Dimension integration utilizes six cameras and advanced AI to generate 3D videos of participants. According to HP, the system’s special light field display renders participant video with realistic size, depth, color, and eye contact, significantly enhancing the video communication experience.

The core component of the HP Dimension with Google Beam system is a 65-inch light-field display, engineered to provide true-to-life dimensions for participants. This technology also incorporates spatial audio and adaptive lighting to further enhance the immersive experience, with the goal of replicating the feeling of being in the same room as other participants.

Andrew Nartker, general manager of Google Beam at Google, remarked, “HP Dimension with Google Beam needs to be seen to be believed — making it feel as though you are in the same room, even when you are miles apart.” This sentiment underscores the system’s potential to revolutionize remote communication.

The HP Dimension with Google Beam is designed to be compatible with major video-meeting platforms, offering native experiences for Zoom Rooms and Google Meet. It supports 3D one-on-one calls, traditional 2D group meetings, and interoperability with cloud-based services such as Teams and Webex, ensuring versatility and broad applicability in various professional settings.

HP emphasizes that this technology addresses a significant workplace need, as 73% of knowledge workers report a desire to feel more connected to their colleagues. Helen Sheirbon, SVP and President of Hybrid Systems at HP Inc., stated, “HP Dimension with Google Beam bridges the gap between the virtual and physical worlds to create lifelike virtual communication experiences that brings us closer together.” This highlights the system’s role in enhancing workplace connectivity and collaboration.

Internal testing by HP has yielded promising results regarding connectivity and engagement. The company reported a 28% increase in memory recall, 29% more non-verbal behaviors displayed, and at least a 14% increase in focus on the meeting partner when using HP Dimension with Google Beam. These findings suggest that the technology can significantly improve the effectiveness of virtual meetings.

Aimed at shared enterprise environments, the HP Dimension with Beam system is priced starting at $24,999. HP announced that the technology will become available to select customers beginning in late 2025, marking an anticipated rollout of this innovative video communication solution.
