Honor has announced the launch of its new entry-level smartphone, the Honor Play10, a 4G-only device that runs on Android Go edition, distinguishing it from other Play-series models.
The Honor Play10 is powered by the Helio G81 chipset and is available in two configurations: 3GB of RAM with 64GB of storage and 4GB of RAM with 128GB of storage. Users can expand the storage further using microSD cards up to 1TB. The device features a 6.74-inch LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1,600 pixels.
For photography, the Play10 includes a 5MP front camera housed in a notch, and a 13MP rear camera. Both cameras are capable of 1080p video recording. The phone is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery, utilizing a USB-C 2.0 port that supports 10W charging.
The device offers basic ingress protection with an IP52 rating. It measures 167.7 x 77.7 x 8.55 mm and weighs 189g. Color options include Ocean Cyan, Starry Purple, and Midnight Black. Additional features include a 3.5mm headphone jack, FM radio receiver, and a fingerprint reader. It supports Wi-Fi 5 (ac) and Bluetooth 5.1 but lacks NFC support.
While pricing details have not been officially announced, the Honor Play10 is anticipated to be offered as a “free on contract” deal. This new model aims to provide essential smartphone features at an accessible price point, targeting users who require basic functionality and extended storage options.
