Google’s Gemini AI Generates Presentation Slides Automatically

Google has introduced a new feature for its Gemini AI chatbot that enables users to generate presentation slides directly within the Canvas workspace, enhancing its functionality for users.

The Canvas workspace, launched in March, is a free interactive tool within the Gemini app. It allows users to share writing or code for editing and displays visual representations of code or prompts for various projects, such as apps, web pages, and infographics. The newly introduced presentation generation tool is specifically designed to cater to the needs of students and employees who require quick slide decks. With this feature, users can create slides using a simple prompt, such as “Create a presentation on [topic].” For presentations based on specific sources, users have the option to upload documents, spreadsheets, or research papers first and then request the AI to build the deck from the uploaded material. If no particular source is required, the prompt alone is sufficient to generate the presentation.

The generated decks come with an automatic theme and integrated images alongside the text, providing a comprehensive and visually appealing presentation. Users have the flexibility to export these presentations directly from the Gemini app to Google Slides for further editing, refinement, or collaboration with team members. This seamless integration with Google Slides enables users to refine their presentations and work together with others more efficiently.

This new capability is now being rolled out to both personal Google accounts and Workspace accounts, thereby expanding Gemini’s utility for a wide range of professional and educational tasks. By making this feature available to a broader user base, Google is enhancing the overall functionality of its Gemini AI chatbot and providing users with a more streamlined and efficient way to create presentations.
