Google is expanding its AI capabilities to Wear OS watches, introducing Gemini AI to Pixel, Samsung, OPPO, OnePlus, and Xiaomi devices running Wear OS 4+, as part of its broader effort to replace Google Assistant across its platforms.

Users can activate Gemini on their Wear OS watches by saying “Hey, Google,” pressing and holding the side button, or tapping the Gemini app icon. This AI assistant will facilitate task completion across various apps, such as summarizing emails or adding calendar events, and can recall details like parking locations, enhancing the overall user experience.

In addition to Wear OS enhancements, Google is upgrading its Circle to Search feature with AI Mode. This new mode enables users to explore complex topics and pose follow-up questions without needing to switch between applications. After initiating a Circle to Search query, an AI Overview will be displayed, allowing users to “Dive deeper with AI Mode.” This functionality is now available through the Google app on both Android and iOS devices in the U.S. and India. Furthermore, Circle to Search is being extended to mobile gaming, helping users identify characters or strategies.

Google is also refining its AI Overviews by incorporating better formatting and visuals, making the information more accessible and user-friendly. Moreover, Pixel 9 Pro owners will receive a complimentary one-year subscription to Google AI Pro, which includes access to Veo 3, a tool for generating short videos based on text descriptions.
