Google is expanding its AI capabilities within search results by rolling out the Canvas feature to all US users in AI Mode, enhancing user interaction with AI-generated content.
The rollout of Canvas is happening in phases and is expected to complete over the next few days. This integration allows users to interact with AI-generated code and documents directly within search results, marking a significant step in Google’s efforts to make AI tools more interactive and accessible.
Canvas enables users to create and edit code and documents on the search results page, providing a live preview of changes to facilitate a deeper understanding of the content. Initially introduced in the Gemini app, Canvas has now been integrated into Google Search, further enriching the user experience.
AI Mode within Google Search delivers AI-powered answers and conversational experiences, and the addition of Canvas enhances this functionality. Currently, the Canvas feature is available only in the US, but Google plans to expand its availability to other regions in the future.
