Google Quick Share Coming to iPhones Soon Possibly

Google is making strides in enhancing compatibility between its Quick Share feature on Android devices and iPhones, a development first hinted at nearly a year ago and recently confirmed through a teardown of the latest Google Play Services beta app.

Quick Share, a unified file-sharing service launched jointly by Google and Samsung on Android last year, currently does not natively support iOS devices. However, the recent findings suggest that Google is working towards bridging this gap.

The integration analysis indicates that there might be a requirement for users to be signed into their Google account when initiating file sharing from an Android device to an iPhone. Interestingly, this requirement may not apply when sharing files between Android devices. The rationale behind this potential stipulation remains unclear, sparking speculation about whether having a Google account on the iPhone will be necessary for Quick Share to function properly, possibly facilitated through the Google app.

Although the specifics of the implementation are still speculative at this point, the partial integration of the feature into the Google Play Services beta app is a strong indication of a possible forthcoming public release. If realized, this development would significantly broaden Quick Share’s compatibility and usability, enabling users to share files seamlessly between Android and iOS devices.
