Google Gemini Live to Get Personal Intelligence Feature

Google is developing a Personal Intelligence feature for Gemini Live, allowing the AI to access personal data from other Google services, marking a significant shift towards more contextual and user-specific interactions.

The development signals a major shift toward contextual, user-specific AI interactions rather than generic responses. This feature could significantly enhance the utility of real-time conversations by leveraging a user’s digital history. Android Authority discovered code strings indicating the feature in version 17.9.50 of the Google app for Android.

The feature connects to apps like Gmail, Google Photos, and Calendar to provide tailored answers. For example, the AI could recommend car tires by finding a car model in a receipt and checking tire size images. This capability allows Gemini to base recommendations on a user’s actual life data rather than a generic web search.

Google previously introduced Personal Intelligence in standard Gemini. According to the report, access was initially restricted to AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers before eventually opening to everyone. The pattern suggests Gemini Live’s Personal Intelligence may also be paywalled for early access.

Google has not officially announced pricing or availability. The code strings label the feature as an internal prototype, meaning a public launch could be weeks or months away. APK teardowns indicate work in progress, not a guaranteed release, but evidence suggests the feature is likely to launch.

Future Google app updates may reveal more clues or a quiet rollout. The strings appeared in version 17.9.50, so subsequent releases could indicate progress. Google typically tests features in the background before enabling them for a wider audience.
