Ford has introduced an AI assistant for its Ford Pro commercial customers, providing detailed fleet data analysis, and is now available to all U.S.-based Pro telematics subscribers as part of their subscription.

This launch represents a significant push by Ford to monetize software for its commercial fleet clients. Ford Pro generated $66.3 billion in revenue and $6.8 billion in net income in 2025, highlighting the division’s financial importance to the automaker. The substantial revenue underscores the critical role Ford Pro plays in the company’s overall financial performance.

The AI assistant was debuted at Work Truck Week in Indianapolis. It monitors a range of metrics including fuel consumption, seatbelt use, vehicle health, idle times, speeding, and acceleration events, rather than just providing diagnostic error codes. Ford emphasized to TechCrunch that the system is not a mere chatbot, indicating a more sophisticated functionality.

Ford Pro AI is built on Google Cloud and uses multiple AI agents. The system leverages internal data from each customer’s fleet to reduce the potential for AI hallucinations and errors. By utilizing customer-specific data, Ford aims to enhance the accuracy and reliability of the AI assistant.

Ford has more than 840,000 global Ford Pro subscribers, though it does not disclose the number of U.S. subscribers. Paid software subscriptions for Ford Pro grew by 30% in 2025, demonstrating a strong demand for the company’s software services.

The company is also developing an AI assistant for owners of its passenger cars and trucks. Announced at CES 2026, this consumer tool will debut in the company’s smartphone app before expanding to vehicles in 2027. This move indicates Ford’s broader strategy to integrate AI technology across its product lineup.

Executive leadership has warned of job cuts due to AI technology. Last year, CEO Jim Farley predicted AI would halve the number of white-collar jobs in the United States. In January, Farley stated the U.S. needs essential workers to build and support the infrastructure for AI goals, highlighting the complex implications of AI adoption.
