Dyson has unveiled the PencilWash, a wet floor cleaner touted as the “world’s slimmest” solution for wet cleaning, following the launch of the PencilVac vacuum last year, providing a lighter and more hygienic cleaning alternative.
The PencilWash is designed to be compact and efficient, with a handle measuring 1.5 inches in diameter from top to bottom, and the entire unit weighing just over 2kg. Its ultra-thin profile enables the cleaner to lie almost completely flat, allowing it to access tight corners and under low furniture where bulkier devices struggle. This design also facilitates easier storage in smaller homes.
The device applies only fresh water to floors and is engineered to dry surfaces quickly after cleaning. It features a high-density microfiber roller that handles both wet and dry debris in a single pass, making it a versatile cleaning tool. Notably, the PencilWash lacks a traditional filter, eliminating concerns about trapped dirt or lingering odors.
A screen located above the power buttons displays the remaining battery life, keeping users informed about the device’s status. When not in use, the handle docks into a charging station, providing a convenient way to keep the device powered up. Dyson has priced the PencilWash at $349, although a specific release date has not yet been announced.
