DJI has announced the upcoming release of the Mic 3, the successor to its popular compact wireless microphone, set to be showcased at the IFA consumer tech conference in Berlin starting September 5th.
The DJI Mic 3 will not be available in the United States through official DJI channels initially. A product page for the device is currently live on DJI’s website, although it is listed as “Out of Stock.” The package, which includes a charging case, two microphones, and a transmitter, is priced at $329. Alternatively, a single microphone and transmitter set costs $219.
DJI describes the Mic 3 as its “most advanced mini wireless mic,” highlighting features such as 32-bit dual file internal recording, timecoding, intelligent noise-canceling, and Adaptive Gain Control. The device also supports multiple receivers with up to 4 transmitters.
The Mic 3 is significantly smaller and lighter than its predecessor, the DJI Mic 2, with the individual wireless mics weighing just 16 grams. Key features of the DJI Mic 3 include adaptive gain control, 32GB of internal storage, three voice tone presets: regular, rich, and bright, two-level noise canceling, a detachable rotating clip, lossless audio transmission (uncompressed 48kHz 24-bit audio), a 400-meter range, and an 8-hour battery life (28 hours with the charging case), with the receiver lasting 10 hours.
According to DJI, the Mic 3 is designed to provide professional-quality audio that can be directly transmitted to smartphones via a transmitter, even in outdoor environments, thanks to the included wind guard.
