Apple is reportedly planning to upgrade the processing power of its mixed-reality headset with the next iteration of the Apple Vision Pro, potentially named Apple Vision Pro 2, featuring a more advanced M5 chip.

The original Apple Vision Pro, which will be two years old in February, is currently powered by an M2 chip. Speculation about the successor’s processing capabilities has been ongoing, with early rumors suggesting the use of the unannounced M5 chip, while more recent reports indicated the possibility of an M4 chip. However, according to MacRumors, an alleged Apple code leak suggests that the Apple Vision Pro 2 will be equipped with the M5 chip, providing a significant boost in processing power.

The same code leak is said to have revealed information about other upcoming Apple products. Notably, it indicates that the Apple Watch Series 11 will not receive a speed upgrade. In contrast, the next-generation iPad mini is expected to run on an A19 Pro chip, marking an upgrade from the current model’s A17 Pro chip, which supports Apple Intelligence. Although the details surrounding the Apple code leak remain somewhat unclear, with sources describing it as “accidentally shared” internal information, the claims offer an early insight into Apple’s potential hardware plans.
