Apple is reportedly working on a successor to its current entry-level iPad, which was launched in March with the A16 and code and code references from Apple indicate the next iteration will feature the A18 chip.

The A18 chip is also anticipated to power the upcoming iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, and iPhone 16e models, suggesting a significant upgrade in processing power and capabilities for Apple’s lineup of devices. A key benefit of incorporating the A18 chip into the next entry-level iPad will be its capability to support Apple Intelligence features, expected to be a significant selling point.

Rumors suggest the new budget iPad could be released in the spring of next year, maintaining the design of its predecessor, with the primary upgrade being the improved chip. The current entry-level iPad retails starting at $349, though future pricing remains unconfirmed.
