Apple has invited the tech press to a “special Apple experience” on March 4, marking the culmination of a “three-day flurry of announcements” that will presumably be made online before the in-person event.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the company plans to hold three simultaneous events in New York, London, and Shanghai, where attendees will get hands-on access to upcoming products. Daring Fireball’s John Gruber speculated that the experience would be “a hands-on thing with in-person demos.” This suggests that the events will provide a unique opportunity for attendees to interact with the new products before they are released to the public.
Apple is expected to announce at least five new products during this period. The expected products include a low-cost MacBook, iPhone 17e, iPad Air with M4 chip, a new entry-level iPad, and upgraded MacBook Air and new MacBook Pro models. Gurman said that all products are due this spring, but was less certain about the exact announcement timing for each.
