Apple is reportedly gearing up to launch new MacBook Pro models later this year, featuring a touchscreen OLED display and M6-series chips, potentially expanding its laptop lineup with high-end devices.
The development signals a significant shift in Apple’s laptop offerings, introducing a new tier of premium products. The new models are expected to command a higher price, with potential increases of up to 20 percent. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the upcoming MacBook could carry an Ultra moniker, positioning it above the M5 Pro and M5 Max MacBooks. However, Gurman is unsure whether Apple will adopt the Ultra branding or stick with the traditional Pro name.
The introduction of OLED touchscreen MacBooks is anticipated to drive up prices by as much as 20 percent, as reported by the analyst. This move is part of Apple’s broader strategy to expand its lineup with options across different price points. Recently, the company introduced the more affordable MacBook Neo with a starting price of $599, indicating a tiered approach to its MacBook offerings.
A similar strategy could extend to its higher-end MacBook models, providing consumers with a range of choices. The new OLED MacBooks with touchscreens are slated to launch in Q4 2026, marking a significant milestone in Apple’s laptop lineup.
