Apple has partnered with IMAX to bring five Formula 1 races from the 2026 season to life on the big screen in select US theaters, offering fans a unique viewing experience.
The selected events include the Miami Grand Prix on May 3, the Monaco Grand Prix on June 7, the British Grand Prix on July 5, the Italian Grand Prix on September 6, and the United States Grand Prix on October 25. This agreement is a follow-up to Apple’s acquisition of a five-year deal for US broadcast rights to Formula 1 last fall, marking a significant step in the company’s plans to enhance its Formula 1 offerings.
Apple has already taken steps to solidify its presence in the Formula 1 broadcasting landscape by launching a dedicated Formula 1 channel on Apple TV ahead of the upcoming season. The tech giant also holds the rights to a Formula 1 feature film that generated over $630 million in global box office revenue, with some IMAX screenings contributing to this total. While the current partnership with IMAX is set to bring live Formula 1 races to theaters during the 2026 season, it remains unclear if IMAX will continue hosting live Formula 1 races at its theaters in future years.
