AMD Radeon RX9070 GRE GPU Spotted in GPU-Z Update

The AMD Radeon RX9070 GRE GPU has been spotted in the support list of the updated GPU-Z utility, version 2.65.0, hinting at a potential imminent release alongside NVIDIA’s lower-end “Blackwell” graphics cards.

Earlier in April 2025, rumors surfaced about the Radeon RX9070 GRE GPU, potentially based on AMD’s Navi 48 GPU die. A source in China claimed that the next wave of RDNA4 would arrive in the shape of a not-yet-official “Great Radeon Edition” (GRE) design. This leak was met with skepticism by some, with many believing that the speculated Radeon RX9060 XT model would launch ahead of a rumored GRE sibling.

The update to TechPowerUp’s GPU-Z utility to version 2.65.0 included several new additions to the supported hardware lists, notably the Radeon RX9070 GRE and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB GPUs. As highlighted by VideoCardz, the presence of these GPUs in the support list points to potential imminent releases. The AMD Radeon RX9070 GRE 12 GB card is expected to be a Chinese market exclusive, possibly serving as a substitute for the “difficult to acquire” Radeon RX9070 16 GB (non-XT) AIB products.

NVIDIA is also expected to launch lower-end “Blackwell” graphics cards this week, as disclosed by insiders. The simultaneous hinting at releases from both AMD and NVIDIA suggests that the graphics card market is on the cusp of new developments from both major players.

The appearance of the Radeon RX9070 GRE in the GPU-Z support list lends credence to the earlier rumors and suggests that AMD is moving forward with the release of this GPU, potentially as part of its RDNA4 lineup.
