The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Songs of the Past will be revealed at Gamescom 2026 during Opening Night Live on August 25, 2026, at 11:00 am PT / 2:00 pm ET / 8:00 pm CEST, according to CD Projekt Red. Songs of the Past is the third expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and is scheduled for release in 2027.
CD Projekt Red is co-developing the expansion with Fool’s Theory. The expansion will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, but will not support Windows 10 and Xbox One due to hardware limitations.
According to reports, Songs of the Past will be similar in scale to the prior expansion, Blood and Wine. The expansion will also feature additional Gwent cards, a card game within the Witcher universe.
In May 2026, CD Projekt Red announced that Songs of the Past would be released in 2027, having initially planned for a 2026 release. The company has not yet shown any footage of the expansion since its announcement.
The Witcher 3 recently surpassed 65 million copies sold, indicating the franchise’s ongoing popularity. The reveal at Gamescom will include a guided presentation for attendees in Cologne, Germany.
