Google Maps will soon feature a major update that allows the application to remember user actions and suggest previously visited or searched locations at appropriate times.
The popular mapping application will integrate “Personal Intelligence” technology, a key capability of the AI-supported Gemini system.
Recent code found in the latest beta version indicates that Google Maps will no longer operate in isolation. The update will enable Maps to communicate directly with accounts like Gmail, Google Photos, Calendar, and YouTube.
This integration means flight and hotel reservation details from Gmail will appear instantly on the map.
Additionally, personalized route and location suggestions will be generated based on memories or past trips from Google Photos.
The “Ask Maps” feature will also receive enhancements, shifting its focus from general advice to providing recommendations tailored to individual plans and preferences.
