Call of Duty: Black Ops and Black Ops 2 ports ranked among the top 10 most played games on PlayStation in the US last week, despite ongoing issues with cheating and downloadable content (DLC) fragmentation.
Activision released the PS4 and PS5 versions of the two games earlier this month. The ports have not received favorable feedback from fans, partly due to their pricing. Each game costs $40, with an additional $30 required for the DLC map packs, which fragments the player base further, especially since crossplay between PS4 and PS5 is not available.
The games have also been plagued by cheating, attributed to unresolved exploits from 15 years ago, leading to a degraded online experience. According to Circana’s Mat Piscatella, both Black Ops titles debuted in the top 10 most played games on PlayStation. Black Ops placed ninth, just behind Madden NFL 26, while Black Ops 2 came in sixth.
In the overall rankings, Call of Duty (the app encompassing Warzone) secured the fourth position, indicating that the franchise continues to maintain a strong presence in the gaming market.
In the top three spots of the chart, Fortnite, NBA 2K26, and Roblox remained unchanged from the previous week. The recent release of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag: Resynced entered the chart within the top 30 on PlayStation, illustrating that nostalgia for classic titles continues to resonate with players.
