Samsung is reportedly developing an AI accelerator chip for personal computers, codenamed Gaia. The chip will utilize a 4nm process, according to a report from Korea.

The Gaia chip features an optimized Neural Processing Unit (NPU) architecture designed to enhance AI computing efficiency on PCs. Samsung has reportedly supplied prototypes of the chip to several unnamed major clients and aims to commence mass production next year.

Gaia targets PC Edge AI computing and applications in the physical AI market, such as robotics. The chip is claimed to provide high performance per watt, though additional details remain undisclosed.
