Apple is set to release a new iPad model featuring an A18 chip, enabling Apple Intelligence capabilities, later this year, as reported by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.

This upcoming iPad will expand Apple Intelligence support to the entry-level iPad line, bringing it in line with other current-generation iPad models. Gurman stated that the iPad with the A18 chip is “ready to go” and “still coming this year,” indicating that the device is on track for a release before the end of the year.

Previously, Macworld reported that the iPad 12 would incorporate an A19 chip. However, Apple has not announced any other significant changes for the iPad 12, suggesting that the device may retain the design of its predecessor. Apple Intelligence is currently available on the iPad mini, iPad Air, and iPad Pro models, and the new entry-level iPad will join these devices in supporting the feature.
