Google is set to enhance its Calendar web application with an improved time zone picker, making it easier for users to schedule events across different time zones.
The update addresses a previous limitation where users had to manually scroll through an extensive list of global time zones, a process that could be time-consuming and prone to errors. With the new feature, users will be able to search for a city or country within the time zone picker to select the correct time zone, streamlining the event scheduling process.
Google stated that the enhanced functionality will be available wherever a time zone can be selected in Google Calendar on the web. This includes features such as creating and scheduling meetings, configuring a secondary time zone for the calendar grid, and utilizing the World Clock feature, thereby providing a more seamless and intuitive experience for users managing events across different geographical locations.
The feature is expected to become widely available over the next few weeks. It will be enabled by default for Google Workspace customers, Workspace Individual subscribers, and personal Google account users, ensuring that a broad range of users can benefit from the improved functionality.
