Oukitel has unveiled the WP63, a rugged smartphone equipped with a built-in electric igniter, at MWC 2026, targeting emergency responders and outdoor enthusiasts who need to start fires in remote areas.

The WP63 is designed to be a multi-purpose tool, featuring a 20,000mAh battery, a loudspeaker, and a built-in USB-C cable for charging other devices, making it suitable for extended outdoor use. The device measures 27mm in thickness and is priced around $500.

A distinctive feature of the WP63 is its electric igniter, which is concealed behind a protective cover at the top of the device. The igniter is activated through an app and heats up, much like vintage car cigarette lighters, to start fires. An Oukitel spokesperson demonstrated the igniter’s capability by lighting rolled-up paper, which resembled a cigarette, showcasing a controlled and gentle process.

The igniter is specifically designed for outdoor use, such as camping or emergency situations where matches are not available. According to an Oukitel spokesperson, the device is not intended for delicate tasks like lighting candles, emphasizing its rugged application.

Oukitel, known for manufacturing ruggedized smartphones, has positioned the WP63 as a practical tool for emergency response and camping scenarios. The addition of the electric igniter to a standard smartphone form factor underscores the device’s utility in challenging environments.
